Job: Structural Engineer / Offshore Support Structures

You will be part of the structural engineering team with focus on the design and optimization of support structures for our wind turbines.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Concept and design of wind turbine offshore support structures (fixed structures and floating structures) according to DNVGL-Standards and Eurocode 3 series
  • Concept and design of offshore specific foundations (incl. piles and grouted joints)
  • Detailed analysis and verification of structural integrity (strength, stability, fatigue)
  • Preparation of analysis reports and component specifications
  • Support of the component certification processes
  • Technical communication with suppliers and 3rd party engineering services
  • Active cooperation with the 2-B Energy departments (CAD, Turbine Loads, Sourcing)

Education

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical, renewables or other related fields)

Working experience

  • Previous experience in structural/mechanical engineering with focus on offshore structures (ideally 3 years +)
  • Sound know-how in FE tools and capability to assess FEA results
  • Deep knowledge in design of steel structures and welded/bolted joints including strength, stability and fatigue calculation
  • Experience in application of DNVGL standards and Eurocode 3 series
  • Good knowledge in design of offshore specific structures including load application, foundation variants and soil-interaction
  • Knowledge in wind turbine technology, materials and production processes (welded and casted parts) and basic offshore logistics
